Aloha and welcome to the islands of Hawaii. First stop, Oahu and it's famous Waikiki Beach... home to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, our pick when we visit Waikiki. You can't go to Oahu without going to a luau and Germaine's Luau on the shores of West Oahu is the best complete with it's traditional music and food. While staying on the west of Oahu, the Ihilani Resort and Spa is not to be missed. The Ihilani also boasts the Ko' Olina Golf Club. This 6867 golf course was designed by Ted Robinson. For a more relaxing vacation, the Ihilani Spa is the answer with a variety of treatments using native hawaiian ingrediants. Just East of the Ihilani sits world-famous Hanauma Bay, a favorite snorkeling spot. Because the bay is protected from wind and waves, visibility for snorkeling is uncomparable.
We also travel to the Big Island of Hawaii which boasts it's own snorkeling haven at the Captain Cook Monument in Kialaeeke Bay. Historically it was the site where Captain james Cook was killed, but now it is a marine sanctuary filled with coral and colorful fish. We go diving along the Kona Coast. Year round mild temperatures, exceptional visibility and over 600 species of marine life make the Kona Coast a diver's paradise. The Kona Coast is also a premiere sport fishing destination. It's uncrowded and the fish are bountiful. Just north is home to Parker Ranch, home of the Hawaiian cowby... the Paniolo. Parker Ranch is the largest private ranch under single ownership in the United States. It's the Wild Weat... island style. If you need a place to stay, the Waikaloa Village on the Kohola Coast has it all. There are more than 1200 guest rooms with private lanai's and the activities are endless. There is a four acre man-made swimming lagoon along with fresh water pools complete with waterfalls and waterslides. You can also swim with dolphins through their Dolphin Quest program. After a day filled with adventure, unwind at the Kohala Spa with several treatments ready to pamper guests.
We experience Maui from above as we sore over rainforests to volcanos.
